(A) eIF2αS/S and eIF2αA/A MEFs from passage 3 were stained for γ-H2AX and analyzed by fluorescence microscopy. DAPI staining was used to visualize nuclei. Histograms show the average number of γ-H2AX foci per cell (n=100). (B) eIF2αS/S and eIF2αA/A MEFs from passage 3 were subjected to cell cycle analysis by FACS. Histograms indicate the percentages of cells in G0/G1, S and G2/M from three independent experiments. (C) Protein extracts (50 μg) from eIF2αS/S and eIF2αA/A MEFs from passage 3 were immunoblotted for the indicated proteins.
