Reduced mitochondrial translation prevents diet-induced metabolic dysfunction but not inflammation

Hormonal and microbiome changes in response to reduced mitochondrial protein synthesis in mice fed a normal and high fat diet. (A) Insulin, triglycerides, adiponectin, cholesterol, leptin, FGF21 and IL-6 levels were measured in serum obtained from 17-week-old Ptcd1+/+ (n=5) and Ptcd1+/- (n=5) mice after 12 weeks of HFD feeding.
