HT-p21 cells were treated with IPTG, nutlin-3a and IPTG+nutlin-3a (as indicated) for 3 days as described previously [4-6] and cells were stained with “oil red O” for lipids. In HT-p21 cells, IPTG induces ectopic p21 and senescence. As described previously, nutlin-3a induces endogenous p53 and suppresses IPTG-induced senescence [4-6].
